There’ll be a new face on the staff team from September as Lydia Bevins starts her year as an intern with us. Lydia has been a part of St Luke’s church family since primary school days. She’ll spend this year working at St Luke’s (with a particular focus on our children’s groups and in our worship ministry), possibly helping out a bit at St Catharine’s Church in Houghton, and will also be receiving Christian Ministry training through the national New Wine intern training programme. We’re really looking forward to seeing Lydia grow into this new role, although she should be warned that, being an intern at St Luke’s, can be dangerous; one of our previous two interns is now working full-time as a Church Youthworker, the other is training to be a vicar!

“I am very excited for the year ahead and am ready to get stuck into church life and the youth/children’s work. I am looking forward to learning about the bible in more depth during my training and learning how to teach that to the young people at St Luke’s as it is something I am passionate about” said Lydia, when we caught up with her recently.
