For more than 10 years St Luke's has had a vision to create a place of welcome and community, of help and hope. We are working hard to make this vision into a reality by building and opening the HUB cafe and meeting space.
We are re-purposing and extending the unused Pavilion next to Manor Park in Thurnby to create a space where all kinds of people can connect together, a place where people can find help in all kinds of practical ways, and a space that can be used by St Luke's when the cafe is closed.
There might not be lots to look at yet but lots has been happening behind the scenes:
a significant government funding grant
planning permission granted
agreeing a hundred year lease with HDC
appointing Lizzie Berry as our Schools and Community Outreach Minister
We are pressing ahead with design drawings being finalised, getting ready to out to tender, and raising the remain funding.
