A year to be equipped
Knowing Jesus Deeply
Before we can lead others, we need to keep growing ourselves. We will explore what it means to delight in Jesus, deepen our relationship with him as an authentic follower of Jesus, and allow the gospel to shape every area of our lives.
Serving Jesus Confidently
Jesus calls us not just to believe, but to live in a way that displays him to those around us. We discover, develop and put into practice the gifts God has given us, growing in practical skills and confidence so we can serve Jesus effectively in all of life.
Sharing Jesus Boldly
We will be equipped not only to live for Jesus but to speak about him. We will grow in our confidence to read, understand, and interpret the Bible, and to communicate its story and our own stories clearly. We will learn how to share Jesus boldly in the places God has put us.
Who is EQUIPPED for?
Anyone in the Cornerstone Churches who is a follower of Jesus and is able to commit the time is welcome to apply to be part of EQUIPPED.
You might be a new Christian, returning to faith, or have been a Christian for many years. You might already serve in many different ways, or you are still trying to find your place – EQUIPPED is for you.
Practical details
Over three ten-week terms we will meet as a group of 8-10 people on Tuesday evenings.
Each week there will be some study to do at home and on Tuesday evenings we will spend time in prayer and worship, learning lessons in leadership from 2 Timothy, studying modules from the Crosslands Foundation course (Christian Discipleship, Reading and Interpreting the Bible, and Evangelism), and learning practical skills.
Commitment
Time: 1.5-2 hours during the week and Tuesdays 7.30pm-9.30pm at Café Fifty Five.
