2023 Priorities

2023 Priorities

It was good to see many of you on Sunday at our various different services, and to be able to share some of our plans as a church for the coming year; while encouraging us all to remember that everything that happens in our lives, both individually and collectively, is in the context that Jesus Christ is the Lion of Judah, and the Lamb who was slain!

He is on the throne, and is the one who sustains all things. And he will return in glory when all will be revealed—to nick the title of at least two different books about Revelation—‘The Lamb Wins!’ And that is good news…

And it’s in this context, and the context of our four church Foundations—Belonging, Growing, Multiplying, Serving—that we are making three things our ‘Big Priorities’ in 2023:

  • Sharing our Faith in Jesus with Others

  • Building and Opening the Hub Community Centre and Café

  • Growing our Youth and Children’s Work.

Of course there are many other things that will continue happening in the life of St Luke’s through the year. But with these three in particular:

  1. Look out for further news and announcements in the coming weeks, including how to get more involved.

  2. Do speak to any of the leaders at church if you have ideas or would like to volunteer on one of the teams.

  3. Most of all, please pray for these three things—that’s why we’ve produced the postcards, as reminders for prayer, so do pick one up if you've not yet got one or download one here.

‘May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.’ (Romans 15v13).
