Cafe Fifty Five Thurnby: Open!

Outside of Cafe Fifty Five

Ten years ago, St Luke's Church had the vision to create a community hub, cafe, and kitchen. This space would provide warmth and hospitality for those from the village and beyond, with the vision of being a place of welcome and community, of help and hope for all.

Today, that vision has become a reality. Today Cafe Fifty Five in Thurnby is now officially open to welcome the community in.

As a café in the park, it’s a place to meet, for everyone to feel welcome, and enjoy good coffee and food. Alongside this, we will be working with a range of community partners to provide help and services to meet the needs of local people, in all kinds of ways.

Our name, ‘Café Fifty Five’ is inspired by Isaiah chapter 55 in the Bible, which starts with God’s invitation to all the people: ‘Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters…’ This is our hope—that Café Fifty Five will be a place of refreshment for everyone who visits!

It's been an incredible journey getting to this day, but the real journey is only just beginning!

Please do keep the Café in your prayers, and come along to join us for delicious coffee, nourishing food, and a place to feel at home.
