Happy New Year

Happy New Year 2026

Happy New Year! ✨

Emily and I want to wish you all a happy new year and to share how grateful to God we are that you are part of St Luke’s. We are praying for our life together as we enter this new year.

Here is a prayer for the beginning of a new year that you might find helpful.

God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

whose years never fail

and whose mercies are new each returning day:

let the radiance of your Spirit renew our lives,

warming our hearts and giving light to our minds;

that we may pass the coming year

in joyful obedience and firm faith;

through him who is the beginning and the end,

your Son, Christ our Lord,

who is alive and reigns with you,

in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

one God, now and for ever.

Amen.

This Sunday (4th January) you will have the chance to hear what our verse for the 2026 and what our priorities for the year ahead are.

And if in case it is helpful here are ten questions from Don Whitney when thinking and praying through the year ahead beginning with:

“What’s one thing you could do this year to increase your enjoyment of God?”
