HUB Update

The vision is for the HUB to be a place of welcome and community, of help and hope. We are working hard to make this vision into a reality by building and opening a cafe and meeting space where all kinds of people can connect together, a place where people can find help in all kinds of practical ways, and a space that can be used by St Luke's when the cafe is closed.

There might not be much happening yet at the Pavilion on Manor Park but lots has been happening behind the scenes to make the HUB a reality. Over the last few months there have lots of encouraging steps forward:

  • a significant grant that brought us close to our funding target of £1million

  • planning permission granted so we can go ahead with the build

  • agreeing a hundred year lease with Harborough District Council

  • appointing Lizzie Berry as our Schools and Community Outreach Minister starting at the end of the summer.

What happens now? We are pressing ahead with design drawings being finalised and getting ready to out to tender. The big challenge ahead of us is the same challenge almost everyone is facing at the moment - the price of everything keeps going up, especially in the world of building things and our funding target will need to increase.

We need to continue to hold the vision God has given us for the HUB and trusting and praying that we would be able to close the growing funding gap.

If you would like to find out more about the HUB project get in touch with us on hello@thurnbychurch.com, we'd love to hear from. If you would like to make a donation, however large or small, you can do so below, and know that every donation will make a real difference in turning the vision of the HUB into a reality.
