On Sunday 24th September our Church Plant - Living Hope Church in Thurmaston celebrated their FIRST birthday. Take a look at what God has been doing over the last 12 months.
"Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn" - Romans 12:15
There have been a whole host of encouraging stories at Living Hope over the last year whether it has been seeing new people coming to faith and becoming part of the church, a full holiday club and more than 100 people at the summer family fun day - with some wanting to find out more, or how the Living Hope planting team have been strengthen in faith by committing to planting a church.
Alongside the encouragements have been the challenges. Sometimes it has been the challenges of life for the team - bereavement, redundancy, health concerns, but also all the physical and emotional energy that goes into the life of Living Hope while the team is still small.
For the second year of Living Hope, Yvonne Potterton has been appointed as a Community Evangelist. As Yvonne has said "there are thousands and thousands of people in Thurmaston made in the image of God but not enough Jesus there."
Her role is to gain a deeper understanding of the people and needs of Thurmaston and to represent Jesus and Living Hope Church in Thurmaston.
The Living Hope Team ask for encouragement from St Luke's Church in two ways:
Pray. Let the team know you are praying for them and what you're praying for them. To join online on the first Monday of every month at 7:30pm the Pray for Thurmaston zoom. Right now we can be praying for: - the wellbeing of the team - Yvonne's role to have an impact - people in Thurmaston to have an open heart to Jesus
Visit. Living Hope Church meets every Sunday at 4pm at Church Hill Junior School. More encouraging that coming to help put out tables and chairs is coming and being the Living Hope team on a Sunday. The team can tell us about the encouraging things but you can't replace being a room together.
